Who Are We?

Founded in 1995, the South Shore Jewish Community is home to more than 100 families, many of whom have mixed marriages. We are a rare blend of Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews from all around the world, speaking French, English, Hebrew, and many other languages.

Our territory in the Montérégie stretches from the St-Laurence River to the U.S. border and from Boucherville to La Prairie, with many members living in Brossard, St-Hubert, Longueuil and St-Lambert.

Although we are not affiliated with any religious movement or synagogue, our community centre doubles as a synagogue, and contains a Bimah and an Ark – home to two kosher Sefer Torahs – enabling us to hold religious services when required, or hold purely social events such as breakfast conferences with guest speakers, or Hebrew classes.

Whether you wish to celebrate our Jewish festivals, or just socialize with other Jews, the South Shore Jewish Community can offer you that connection to Jewish life and culture. Young families are particularly welcome! Come and join us at our community centre. Check “Upcoming Events” for dates to remember.
