PASSOVER SEDER 5768
 |
We invite you to join us for our traditional
community Passover (second) Seder. Last year we had
over 50 participants and it was a joyous evening.
This has been a long and hard winter and we eagerly await the coming of spring. |
Last year we had over 50 participants
and it was a joyous evening.
This has been a long and hard winter and we eagerly
await the coming of spring. Pesach is the time we remember
and celebrate our freedom – from slavery in ancient
times and from the tyranny of the Holocaust.
It is the time we rejoice in and strengthen the bonds
of our community.
So please complete and return the coupon on the enclosed
flyer by April 11, 2008, at the very latest. Last year
we had an overflow attendance and as we do have limited
space we encourage you to make sure you are included.
We look forward to seeing you.

ROSH
CHODESH
|
On Saturday, April 5th Leonard Cohen will lead us
in a Rosh Chodesh Shabbat service.
As you well know it is imperative that we have a minyan. We hope
you will response positively.
In a new tradition for our community (started last year by one
or two members) – the kiddush for this Rosh Chodesh is sponsored
by Gérard Lévy, David Bornstein and Alain Assor.
Sponsoring a kiddush is a lovely way of celebrating a family event – whether
it be a barmitzvah, the birth of a child or grandchild, special
birthday or remembering a beloved parent.
If any member would like to do this in the future please let us
know and it will be arranged.
Meantime – let us see you on April 5th. We are not able to
have regular Shabbat services but when we do – we really
would like to have a full house. They are a very precious part
of our communal life.
A FRIENDLY
REMINDER
Rosalie Miller-Hodson, Treasurer
Sincere thanks go to all members who sent in their
cheque for their membership fees promptly. Membership fees are
an important source of revenue for
the community.
To those of you who have not yet sent in your cheque, we ask that you
do so as soon as possible.
Remember the two donation lines on your invoice are voluntary and if
your budget doesn’t stretch that far, then just send in what you
can. If you would like to make two or three payments over the course
of the year, this, too, is possible. Just call me (450-462-7870).
MIMOUNA
This year we will enjoy a double celebration of Pesach.
In the Sephardic tradition the last day of Pesach is also a cause
for celebration.
Alain Assor our vice president has invited us all and is sponsoring a
Mimouna Sephardic supper on Sunday, April 27 at 7 pm at our centre.
You will enjoy Sephardic food, music and fun.
Please RSVP to Alain at: 514-443-1821.
