Congregation Beth Israel Ohev Sholom of Quebec City made this year's
High Holiday celebration very special, with their gift to us of a
permanent loan of a Sefer Torah. We were thrilled this year to read
from our own two Sefer Torahs and to know that our Oren Kodesh now
houses them.
We would like to express our gratitude to Congregation Beth
Israel Ohev Sholom and the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors for enriching
our Jewish lives.
We would also like to acknowledge and extend our special thanks to
Peter Nobel and the Congregation Beth El which has loaned us a Torah
for the High Holidays every year for the past 11 years, including this
year.
Rabbi Arie Chark led our High Holiday Services 2005. We were pleased
to have more than 45 people attend. Rosh Hashanah kiddushes and the
fast-breaking Yom Kippur kiddush were organized by our President, Beryl
Tovim. Our thanks to Isaac Sayegh, our religious director, Beryl Tovim
and everyone who helped plan and organize services and kiddushes. Our
thanks, as well to everyone who generously donated to the High Holiday
services.
